Research Culture Workshops
As you may be aware the University has recently made clear its support for implementing the use of Responsible Metrics by becoming a signatory of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). This is a statement on the need to improve the ways in which the outputs of research are monitored and evaluated. This agreement is held in high esteem by funder of research and at Exeter is being complimented and promoted via a group of Responsible Metrics 'Champions' led by Prof. Mat Collins. We have also institutionally signed the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, along standing commitment for which we have maintained a European HR Excellence in Research award for the past 8 years.
These combined activities are increasing being expected by research funders and considerably strengthen our research outputs, such as our REF Environment Statements. In addition, they reflect the values expressed in our new Research & Impact Strategy, allowing us to enhance and deliver a vibrant, world-class research culture. To help embed these important aspects of our research culture, we are holding a series of departmental workshops where colleagues can contribute and give feedback on the research culture within the department. Watch a video here from Professor Neil Gow promoting the importance of the workshops.
These workshop is aimed at any member of staff who undertakes research; from Early Career Researchers through to colleagues who are in Professorial grades are Research leads or colleagues more generally within the ‘R’ or ‘E & R’ job families.
If you have not received an invite and think you should of please email: researcherdevelopment@exeter.ac.uk where we will be able to send you a link to the workshop.
