Vice-Chancellor chairs UUK International Policy Network
In the Vice-Chancellor’s role as Chair of the Universities UK (UUK) International Policy Network, he attended and chaired an event last week (Tuesday 2 August) in London on addressing the implications of the vote to leave the European Union.
The event explored two key themes: addressing Brexit challenges and exploring the future opportunities for international collaboration once the UK leaves the EU, and included a diverse group of speakers from within and outside the Higher Education sector.
The continuing priorities for the sector are:
- securing continued access to Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+;
- clarifying staff and student immigration status post exit;
- and whether EU students will continue having access to tuition fee loans from 2017/18.
