The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2025 (Streatham)

Join us on Streatham Campus for the Big Garden Birdwatch!

Students, staff, and the local community are all welcome!

Event details

Join us in January for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. Members of our Sustainability team will be recording bird species and numbers and sending these to the RSPB for inclusion in their annual survey. Students, staff, and the local community are all welcome! Please wear weatherproof clothing and feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. Binoculars would also be handy, but you can take part without, and staff will endeavour to bring a couple with them.

Meet at 10:30 a.m. outside Camper Café, Queens (What3Words location here ) for an hour of birdwatching from 11 a.m. – midday. Depending on the size of the gathering we will be conducting bird counts at two or three different locations on Streatham Campus. If the weather forecast is awful and we are forced to cancel we will let you know by email by 7pm on Thursday 23rd – so, please ‘register’ for a free ticket via this Streatham Eventbrite

A note on accessibility:

One of our survey points is step free and on a surfaced path, and less than 100m from the meeting point. Our other likely survey point involves stepped access and rough, muddy ground, so please wear appropriate footwear if you would like this option. There is no seating at the survey points but feel free to join for as long, or as short a time as you wish. If you have any concerns, please let us know on the day or email us ahead of the event sustainability@exeter.ac.uk.
