Synopsis: Museums and archaeology face a crisis in the volume of 'important' objects for future preservation. This seminar explores the role of museums as passive repositories or active agents, how we value the material world, and the ethical dilemmas within choosing to let some objects go. 

Bio: Dr Jenny Durrant has worked in commercial, museum and public archaeology since 2003, and is a museum sector leader in ethics, transparent working, and disposal.
