DESCRIPTION:Please join the Justice & Violence Studies research network at Exeter for three presentations on Myanmar by: 1 Khin Khin (SOAS) - keynote speaker. The title of Khin's presentation is "Stolen futures: The Reality for Myanmar Youth Since 2021" Khin is a PhD researcher in the Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS, University of London. Her research examines the drivers behind China’s engagement with Myanmar’s political transition since the 2010s. She brings over a decade of professional experience working with youth, civil society organisations, think tanks, and international non-governmental organisations in Myanmar. Her work has focused on youth development, civil society capacity building, the peace and conflict in Myanmar, and China’s Myanmar policy. 2 Dr Vadim Atnash (University of Exeter). The title of Dr Atnash's presentation is "Weaponisation of Citizenship in Rohingya Genocide" Dr Vadim Atnash is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Exeter. Main research interests of Vadim are Southeast Asian studies, international human rights law, indigenous peoples, ethnopolitical conflicts, and immigration. Additionally, as a 2023 Fulbrighter and Charles E. Scheidt Faculty Fellows in Atrocity Prevention he is doing comparative research on Cambodia, Vietnam and Ukraine". 3. Yimuranjang Adili  (SOAS). The title of Yimuranjang's presentation is "Performative Protagonism and the Symbolic Foreclosure of Human Rights Cascades: From South America to Myanmar". Yimuranjang Adili is an MA student in Politics and International Relations at SOAS, University of London; Research Assistant at Shanxi Normal University, China. His research interests are migration diplomacy, politics of memory, state violence, and Turkish foreign policy.
