Ashley Tabor is the Founder and Executive President of Global and is among the leading media and entertainment entrepreneurs in Europe. Ashley has always had a love for music, radio and media and started his radio career in Hospital Radio at the age of 15. In 2004 he secured the X Factor Management contract for Global Talent, managing some of the artists from the early seasons of the hit TV show.

In 2007 he started Global Radio, and since then has built the UK’s largest commercial radio company, with stations reaching over 20 million people every week. Global’s radio brands include Heart, Capital, Classic FM, Xfm, Choice FM and Gold.

Ashley has extended Global’s business well beyond radio and it now includes music publishing and television with Capital TV and Heart TV.

Alongside these significant commercial successes, Ashley is determined that Global gives back to the communities it serves. In the past year, Global’s registered charities have made grants of more than £2.7 million, directly improving the lives of almost 600,000 individuals. A passionate believer in developing the next generation of talent, he has also launched the Global Academy, offering young people a formalised pathway into the media.

Regularly listed in Media Guardian’s Most Influential Top 100, Ashley has spent the past two years as the Chair of the Radio Academy. He is a board member of Digital Radio UK and of commercial radio trade body RadioCentre. He also sits alongside the BBC on the cross-industry group, the Radio Council.
