Impact and Partnership Development Manager – Defence, Security, Conflict


Michelle works within the Government and Society Impact and Partnership Development Team, managing the Defence, Security and Conflict Theme.

Her role is to work with academics and colleges to:

  • Aassist to develop and manage impact case studies
  • Create and enable government and business partnerships
  • Support new research and education projects linked to Defence, Security, Conflict or Stabilisation

In addition, Michelle is the University Relationship Manager for the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and for QinetiQ.


Michelle joined the University in March 2015.

Prior to this Michelle had a long career at the Met Office, starting in weather forecasting and then progressing into the Commercial Business Team, where she began as an account manager -responsible for the water sector and the London 2012 contract - and then moved on to running the Utilities and then the Renewables Team.

This involved working with a team of account managers and scientists to generate revenue for the Met Office, by delivering products, services and science to UK and European Utilities and Renewables companies.
