Profile
Following completion of her degree in Sociology at the University of Birmingham, Kitty joined the University in 2014 as an Equality and Diversity Project Officer in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. Kitty maintains her keen interest in evidence and data-based policy analysis, implementation and impact review, to support Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity in the workplace. Kitty became the University’s Senior Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Advisor in 2017. During this role she led the University’s institutional Athena SWAN consultation and application preparation with her team of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Advisors, and Academic and PS Inclusivity Representatives. This project involved extensive data gathering, visualisation and policy and process review, to form the basis of the University’s four-year long Athena SWAN action plan.
Kitty is a huge fan of the great outdoors, and can often be found mountain biking on Haldon Hill, Kayaking around the beautiful Jurassic coast, or running around campus.
