Equality Reports and Data
Reports and Data
The Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) introduced by the Equality Act 2010 is supported by specific duties, which aim to help public bodies perform better in meeting the PSED and require the University to publish
- Equality Objectives, at least every four years
- Equality data to demonstrate compliance with the equality duty, at least annually
Why is equality data monitoring important?
It is both a requirement and good practice to know the composition of our student body and workforce so that issues of under-representation can be addressed and needs can be provided for.
The data presented here provides an evidence-based approach to equality so that we are able to prioritise and focus on specific agendas as we work towards creating an environment which is free from discrimination and promote equality of opportunity.
The Ethnicity Pay Gap for University employees at March each year, using the statutory Gender Pay Gap methodology (excluding casual workers) was:
|Year||Mean||Median||% of staff declaring their ethnicity as BAME|
A negative pay gap is BAME favoured.
For future years, the ethnicity pay gap will be reported in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Annual Report
