Creating an outstanding teaching and learning environment, with students at the heart of everything we do, is at the core of the University of Exeter. This has been recognised through the awarding of a Gold rating in the UK Government’s first national Teaching Excellence Framework. Exeter is also 12th in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019;meaning the University is number 1 in the South West of England. We are in the top 150 of Universities in the World, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the most influential global league table.  The University currently has around 22,000 students, around 20% of which are international.  In total we host students from over 140 different countries, making for a truly vibrant and inclusive academic community.

Located in the South West of England, Exeter is a modern city with a rich history.  The area is consistently voted as one of the best places to live, work and study in the UK due to its high quality of life, low crime rate and beautiful setting.  Students enjoy the benefit of a campus-based University but are within easy walking distance of the vibrant city centre.  The wider region is a renowned UK tourist destination.  It boasts a wonderful coastline stretching right around the counties of Devon and Cornwall, and the national parks, Dartmoor and Exmoor, are right on your doorstep.

Exeter’s Streatham campus is agreed to be amongst the most beautiful in Britain.  It also boasts world class teaching, research and social facilities.  This is an exciting time to be at the University of Exeter as we have recently invested more than £380 million in facilities including £130 million on student residences, £50 million on the Forum, £25 million on the Business School and £25 million on Biosciences. The Penryn Campus in Cornwall offers the very latest academic, research and residential facilities set in 100 acres of countryside close to the waterside town of Falmouth, with beautiful views over the Fal estuary. Made up of around 4,000 students, it offers intimacy and friendliness, in an arrangement that is unique as we share the campus with Falmouth University; a leading specialist arts institution. This combination creates a vibrant community of students from science, engineering, humanities and arts backgrounds.
