COVID-19 statement for all services

We will do everything possible to help ensure we keep everyone as safe as possible and reduce the risk to you and others of spreading the COVID-19 virus. UK Government guidelines at the time of travel will be followed and all passengers will be asked to comply as requiredAppropriate safety, sanitising and social distancing measures will be implemented on the services. These measures may include, but may not be limited to, distanced seating plans, wearing face coverings while travelling, regular hand sanitisation. Full details will be confirmed by email closer to the time to ensure they fully comply with up to date UK law and government guidelines. By booking a place on the service and agreeing to our Terms and Conditions you give your agreement to follow the measures that will be in place.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Booking conditions  

  • These services are open to all students studying on the Penryn, Falmouth and Truro Campuses in Cornwall at any level, including Falmouth University and University of Exeter students. 

  • There are a limited number of seats available on the service. To avoid disappointment please book early. Bookings will close on Sunday 5th September 2021, unless capacity is reached earlier, in which case we may close bookings early.   

  • There is a no charge for the service.   

  • You can book additional seats for others travelling with you.   

  • Please note: all passengers must be able to sit unaided in their own seat. We cannot accept babies or children under 12 years without appropriate seatbelt-secured child seats to be provided by yourselves (we cannot provide infant or child seats).     

  • We can only accept online bookings. If you have problems with the booking system please email your student number and travel details to airportcollectionservice@fxplus.ac.uk.    

  • You will receive a confirmation email of your booking from us. Please keep this on record. 

  • There is limited availability on flights into Cornwall. We request that you ensure your inbound transportation is booked before reserving a space on this collection service.  

  • If you need to amend your original booking please contact airportcollectionservice@fxplus.ac.uk with your details and request. 

  • The coach will take you directly to the Penryn University Campus in Cornwall.  

  • The service is only available to those students who do not require to quarantine upon arrival to campusThis means this service is open to new arrivals from Green list countries, or those from Amber or Red list countries who have completed their mandatory quarantine period. It is also available for those who are fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme and arrivals from amber countries who are fully vaccinated in the EU with vaccines authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or in the USA with vaccines authorised by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or in the Swiss vaccination programme. This is because you are not required to quarantine on arrival and therefore should not share transport with those who are required to quarantine.

  • New arrivals from Red list countries are required to complete a mandatory 10-day quarantine period in a managed quarantine hotel. You can read more about this hereIf this is complete, students may join the local Newquay services. 

  • A negative test must be presented to be able to use the service. In the absence of a negative test you will be asked to do a lateral flow device (LFD) test.  

  • Failure to provide a negative test or perform the requested LFD test will mean you cannot board the service and will need to make your own way to campus at your own cost. In this case, no refund is possible. This is to ensure the service is a safe as possible for all service users. 

  • If you return a positive lateral flow device test, you will be transported to campus in a private taxi (at our expense), and supported to book a PCR test to determine your COVID-19 status. Your necessary quarantine period will be supported in your accommodation.

Cancellations and missed coaches

  • Please email airportcollection@fxplus.ac.uk if you need to cancel your booking. This allows us to offer your space to another student. 

  • The collection services will depart as scheduled. We are unable to wait if you are delayed. If you are delayed while travelling into Cornwall please contact us as soon as possible; you will be given a mobile number to contact us on. We will do what we can to accommodate you if a later collection service is available 

  • If you are late and we are not able to accommodate you, you are responsible for your own transportation, and associated costs, to the Penryn Campus.

The Collection Service is a shared service between Falmouth University, University of Exeter and Falmouth Exeter Plus. As such, by booking a space on the service and agreeing to the terms and conditions you agree to the above information being shared within these organisations. This information will be held securely, used exclusively for the purpose of the Collection Service and deleted within 12 months of the service date. Booking conditions

  • Thursday 26th August 2021 (for Thursday 2nd September 2021 Heathrow service)  

  • Sunday 5th September 2021 (for Thursday 9th September 2021 Heathrow service)  

  • There is a £50 charge per person for the service.  There are no price reductions for children.    

  • You can book additional seats for others travelling with you.    

  • Please note: all passengers must be able to sit unaided in their own seat. We cannot accept babies or children under 12 years without appropriate seatbelt-secured child seats to be provided by yourselves (we cannot provide infant or child seats).   

  • We can only accept online bookings. If you have problems with the Online Booking form or Online Store payment system please email your student number and flight details to airportcollectionservice@fxplus.ac.uk  

  • You will receive a confirmation email of your booking from the Online Store. Please keep this for your record.    

  • If you need to change your original booking please contact airportcollectionservice@fxplus.ac.uk with your details and request.    

  • It is your responsibility to leave enough time to meet us in London Heathrow Airport Arrivals Gate Terminal 5 before 12:00 on the service date. Please allow adequate time after your flight arrival to get through Customs, collect your luggage and meet us. As a guide, we advise at least 2.5 hours for this and more time may be needed under COVID-19 conditions if additional checks or waiting times are required at the airport.   

  • The London Heathrow service on Thursday 2nd September is timed to support students travelling from Amber list countries that must comply with a 10 day quarantine upon arrival in England to minimise the spread of COVID-19. The coach service will take you directly to the Penryn Campus in Cornwall.  Once on campus, Collection Service passengers will be settled into free quarantine accommodation and will be supported throughout the required quarantine period.  

  • If travelling from an Amber list country you will need to comply with and organise the government tests on day 2 and 8. The University cannot assist with organising these tests. 

  • The London Heathrow service on Thursday 9th September is primarily available to those students who do not require to quarantine upon arrival to campus. This means this service is open to new arrivals from Green list countries, or those from Amber or Redlist countries who have completed their mandatory quarantine period. It is also available for those who are fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme and arrivals from amber countries who are fully vaccinated in the EU with vaccines authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or in the USA with vaccines authorised by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or in the Swiss vaccination programme. This is because you are not required to quarantine on arrival and therefore should not share transport with those who are required to quarantine.

Once this is complete, students may join the Thursday 9th September or local Newquay services if you opt to take an onwards flight.

Cancellations and missed coaches 

  • Email airportcollectionservice@fxplus.ac.uk  to cancel your booking. We will acknowledge your cancellation email.    

  • If you cancel your booking on or before the relevant booking deadline (see below) you will receive a full refund of the booking fee: 

  • Thursday 26th August 2021 (for Thursday 2nd September 2021 Heathrow service) 

  • Sunday 5th September 2021 (for Thursday 9th September 2021 Heathrow service) 

  • Cancellations received after the relevant booking deadline receive no refund.    

  • If the University is forced to cancel the collection service due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, all bookings will receive an automatic refund of the booking fee, even if the booking deadline has past 

  • The service will depart London Heathrow Terminal 5 at 12:00 prompt.  If you experience delays on the day please contact us as soon as possible to discuss the options available, you will be given a mobile number to contact us on.   

  • If you are late and miss the departure time we are not able to accommodate you and you will be responsible for your own transportation, and associated costs, to the University Campus. You will not be entitled to a refund in this circumstance.
