Documents to prepare

For entering the UK

We strongly suggest that you carry your original documentation with you as you travel into the UK. This could include your passport and visa (if applicable), transcripts, bank statements, your acceptance letter from Exeter, some confirmation of where you will be living in the UK (Accommodation Office email). If you are requesting a Student Visitor Visa at UK Customs you will definitely need your letter from Exeter. Documents required on arrival

As an international student you may need to present some original documentation in person before you can complete University Registration online. This is called International Student Clearance.

Students with CAS AND tier 4 visa/other visa (not including Student Visitor Visa)

  • Qualifications listed on your CAS. These should be the original documents and certified translations if they are not in English.
  • Your passport
  • Your visa

Non EU students entering with a Short Term Study Visa who supplied original transcripts to the University prior to arrival

  • Your passport

Non EU students entering with a Short Term Study Visa who did not supplied original transcripts to the University prior to arrival

  • Original qualifications
  • Your passport

EU Erasmus students do not need to complete Documentation Checks.

International Student Clearance sessions during Freshers' Week (16-22 September 2017)

Exeter campuses: The Forum Seminar Room 1, 09.00-17.00 (close 13.00 on Friday 22nd)

Please note there will be information on your 'Welcome email' about pre booking appointments for International Student Clearance at Exeter.

Penryn campus: Sports Centre, Friday 15 September 12noon - 6pm, and Sunday 17 September 10am - 3pm.

Exeter campuses: Careers Zone, The Forum, 09.00-17.00 (close 13.00 on Friday 29th)

Penryn campus: Penryn Info Point (PIP), Peter Lanyon Building, 09.00-17.00 (Monday - Friday)
