Description - summary of the module content

Module description

This module is designed to support you to develop the knowledge, skill-sets and confidence needed to be able to set up your own business venture. Over the duration of the course you will come to understand the importance of Entrepreneurship and will learn how to plan, finance and launch your own business as part of a group.

Even if you are not planning to launch a business in the future, it is likely, whichever path you choose, you will encounter entrepreneurial activities in the form of other businesses or within the business you work.

This module provides you with a theoretical framework but also aims to encourage you to reflect on and develop your personal skills and analyse entrepreneurial experiences.

Re-assessment notes

Deferral – if you miss an assessment for reasons judged legitimate by the Mitigation Committee, the applicable assessment will normally be deferred. See ‘Details of reassessment’ for the form that assessment usually takes. When deferral occurs there is ordinarily no change to the overall weighting of that assessment.

Referral – if you have failed the module overall (i.e. a final overall module mark of less than 40%) you will be required to take a re-sit assessment and re-submission. Only your performance in this assessment will count towards your final module grade. A grade of 40% will be awarded if the assessment is passed.
