Module description
This module is designed as a basic introduction to the business world and uses the example of a well known global business to allow us to explore and analyse a range of business aspects.
We all interface with businesses in many ways: as employees, as employers, as managers, as investors, as suppliers and as consumers. This course, introduces to students, the basics of the many exciting and challenging components of the business world.
Module aims - intentions of the module
This module aims to allow students the opportunity to develop an overview of the business world. Key areas examiner are strategy, finance, the external environment, e commerce, CSR and operations including quality. All are key aspects of understanding the business world.

Re-assessment notes
Deferral – if you miss an assessment for reasons judged legitimate by the Mitigation Committee, the applicable assessment will normally be deferred. See ‘Details of reassessment’ for the form that assessment usually takes. When deferral occurs there is ordinarily no change to the overall weighting of that assessment.
Referral – if you have failed the module overall (i.e. a final overall module mark of less than 40%) you will be required to take a re-sit exam and re-submission. Only your performance in this exam will count towards your final module grade. A grade of 40% will be awarded if the examination is passed.
