The Queen to officially open the Forum

Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will visit the University of Exeter on Wednesday 2 May 2012, as part of the Diamond Jubilee Tour.

The Queen will officially open the Forum, an exciting new development for the heart of the University’s Streatham Campus, creating an inspirational mix of outside and inside space.

During the visit, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will meet University staff and students and representatives for the counties of Devon and Cornwall. They will tour the Forum, watch music and theatre performances by students and find out about some of the cutting-edge research being carried out by the University. They will then join guests for a Devon and Cornwall-themed lunch, prepared by University chefs.

Members of the public are invited to join University staff, students and guests in welcoming The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh to the Streatham Campus. Details of the visit will soon be made available on the University website.

The £48 million Forum development delivers a new Student Services Centre, an extended and refurbished Library, new technology-rich learning spaces, a 400-seat lecture theatre, retail and catering outlets, a landscaped piazza and a new University reception, ensuring the University of Exeter offers an outstanding experience for students.

The Forum is part of a £350 million development programme across the University’s campuses in Exeter and Cornwall.
