Event Exeter, the University’s conference and event team, has become the first team within the University to be accredited with the internationally recognised ISO9001:2015 standard for Quality Assurance.

The accreditation is a culmination of months of hard work from the team, who attract regional, national and international visitors to host their conferences, events and functions at the University’s Exeter campuses.  The team has demonstrated that they have setup and successfully implemented systems and processes which are fit for purpose and focus on their customers’ requirements.  They have streamlined internal processes and focussed solely on their customers’ experience to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Sarah Snow, Acting Director of Commercial Services, said:  “Continuous improvement is at the heart of the team’s ethos to ensure that we consistently deliver excellent customer experiences. I am absolutely delighted that the Event Exeter team has been recognised for their commitment.  The team has invested a large amount of time ensuring we do things in the best way, which directly impacts on our customers.  We will continue to review, adapt and make further improvements where necessary.  The principles of ISO9001 will be consistently embedded into everything that we do.”

Teams across Campus Services are dedicated to the standard including the Built Estate Team who achieved ISO9001 status in 2010, has recently been reaccredited in ISO9001:2008 and will now work towards transitioning to the ISO9001:2015 standard.  The Engineering and Direct works team are also working towards the standard and will be assessed next month.

The Event Exeter team will be assessed annually in order to retain the accreditation.
