We are delighted to say the Exeter University South West Alumnae Group (female graduates) is back – renamed Exe-X South West and with a programme of regular networking meetups and events for 2020.

To celebrate we have invited Devon-based Oxford historian Rachel Trethewey for a talk and discussion about her latest book ‘Before Wallis: Edward VIII’s Other Women’. Could an earlier love have provided the emotional stability Edward craved? What was his involvement with Africa’s notorious Happy Valley set? And, with current royal difficulties in mind what, if anything, has changed? Our post-talk discussion will explore some of these issues.
