This event celebrates the full launch of the Poetry of the Lancashire Cotton Famine database. The original 100 poems are now joined by 300 more texts gathered from the UK, the US, Ireland, Australia, and France. The project represents years of work by the Cotton Famine Poetry research team based at the University of Exeter, the Exeter Digital Humanities Lab, and public, student, creative, and scholarly contributors.

Introduced by the Exeter DH Lab’s Dr Charlotte Tupman, the event will feature short discussions of the project from Professor Brian Maidment, Dr Ruth Mather, and Dr Simon Rennie, before this major scholarly achievement is made publicly available and demonstrated for the first time.
