This session is relevant for all researchers, regardless of career stage, and for new Departmental/Discipline Ethics Officers, Research Ethics Committee members, reviewers and administrators.


Event details

This session is relevant for all researchers, regardless of career stage, and for new Departmental/Discipline Ethics Officers, Research Ethics Committee members, reviewers and administrators. It will provide an introduction to theoretical frameworks and codes of practice, the principles of research ethics, the process of research ethics review and provide an opportunity for researchers to reflect on the ethical implications of their work.

As a result of attending, you will:

  • Understand the principles of ethical research design and conduct
  • Have an awareness of relevant codes of practice and guidelines
  • Know when and how ethical review should be sought for research
  • Understand what to look for when carrying out an ethical review
  • Know where to find guidance, advice and support
