Careers in Banking - An Alumni Panel

This live online event brings together an exciting panel of Business School and Physics alumni working in various roles in the banking and finance sector, including Deutsche Bank, HSBC and finnCap. Our alumni will share their insights into investment banking, as well as share their experiences and expertise which could help inform you about your own career decisions.

Each speaker will present for 10 minutes, sharing their experiences from their time at Exeter and beyond, after which there will be time for your questions to be put to the panel.

Confirmed speakers are:

Alexander Allen - Alex Allen is a Investment Banking Analyst at Deutsche Bank in the Natural Resources Group (M&A), having joined originally on the FIC Markets Graduate Scheme in 2020. He studied Economics with Industrial Placement at the University of Exeter and graduated in 2019. Prior to joining full-time at Deutsche Bank, Alex completed various internships at Société Générale and Olivetree Financial covering: research, sales, trading and structuring in both Credit and Equity markets. Following completion of his degree, Alex travelled in Central and South America and completed ski season in Les Arcs, France. At University, he was involved in the Athletics and Swimming BUCS teams and was a member of the Business and Finance Society

Kate Bannatyne - Kate works in Corporate Finance at finnCap, advising public companies on a spectrum of corporate activity including M&A and IPOs. Kate started at finnCap straight out of University having sought work experience at finnCap in her penultimate year. Kate studied Physics at Exeter, graduating in 2014.

Eva Wang - Eva comes from China and currently works as a structured credit trader at HSBC UK. She graduated in 2018 with master degree in Finance and Investment and undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance both from University of Exeter with Dean's commendation. She represented University of Exeter in CISI high education trust award and was rated as top 2 graduate in UK. Before her full-time job, she had internship experiences in consulting companies and private equities.
