Exeter Ideas Lab for REACT's Objects Sandbox

The Exeter Ideas Lab will be an integral part of the bidding process for REACT's Objects Sandbox.

Event details

Information about this event

This sandbox will bring the skills of artists, makers and researchers to explore the look, feel and potential of a new area of work, often referred to as the Internet of Things, where new technologies embedded in real things can allow objects themselves to tell us their stories and start conversations outside of performance, page or screen.

If you are interested in this call you should attend this or one of the other Ideas Labs listed on the REACT Hub Objects Sandbox website. The day will give you an opportunity to learn more about the scheme, share and refine your idea, get inspired and meet potential collaborators.

Who can attend?

This event is for:

  • Academics and researchers from the University of Exeter (or other REACT partner institutions: UWE, Bath, Bristol and Cardiff)
  • People from ‘creative economy’ businesses and organisations (for some examples of creative economies please visit: http://www.react-hub.org.uk/faqs/)
  • Invited ‘affiliated’ academics (of non-REACT universities)

Registration

To reserve your place please visit the REACT Hub Objects Sandbox webpage. Full booking information, briefing documentation and application forms are available on the website. The deadline for written applications to the scheme will be in December and the projects will run from March until May 2014.
