Maternal psychological distress and harsh parenting: The role of maternal mental health treatment

Dr Emily Midouhas will present recent research that begins to explore the question of whether common mental health treatment for mothers experiencing psychological distress might translate to real world changes in their parenting behaviours. This research is based on secondary analysis of cohort data from the Millennium Cohort Study and is linked to a new line of research she is pursuing with colleagues in a newly-funded research project examining parent-child interactions in the context of intervention.
