Our guest speaker is Knut-Willy Saether, philosopher, mountain guide and Professor in Religious Studies at Volda University College in Norway

Abstract

Professor Knut-Willy Saether from Volda University, Norway, will provide an introduction to the Norwegian concept of 'friluftsliv' and his interdisciplinary research, emphasizing “deep experiences”  in very wild nature, such as the high mountains of Norway, Svalbard etc. He will then address some more philosophical reflections on the “trajectory” from these nature experiences towards spirituality (where the important of “place/space” will be highlighted).

This hybrid seminar will NOT be recorded, therefore, we ask everyone attending, in person or online, not to make any recordings or stills (photographs) of any part of the seminar and protect one another’s privacy.

Participation in the seminar will be taken to indicate acceptance of these terms.
