An UEBS Department of Management seminar

Management seminar - Jillian MacBryde, University of Strathclyde

Event details

DIGIT Lab’s first online seminar of 2023 will be presented by Professor Jillian MacBryde from the University of Strathclyde on 25 January, at 12:30. Jill is Professor of Innovation and Operations Management and also Co-director of the InterAct project. The seminar focuses on how we can ensure that we are thinking about people as we build a strong manufacturing future in a digital environment and it will touch on important questions such as : • What will a digital manufacturing workplace look like? • How can the manufacturing sector prepare people to work alongside new technologies, robots, and co-bots? • What are the essential skills for future manufacturing workplaces and how can we enable these through training and education? • How can advanced technologies help generate and embed new ways of working by opening up career opportunities for otherwise hard-to-reach groups such as women, minorities, older workers and disabled people? The DIGIT Lab is an EPSRC Next Stage Digital Economy Research Centre, led by the University of Exeter Business School, delivering a 5-year research programme backed by £12.4M in funding.
