Patients with mental health problems and the GP consultation workshop

Half Day, free of charge training sessions

Delivered in partnership between the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust (CWMT) and the Mood Disorders Centre, University of Exeter.


Event details

The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, the University of Exeter Medical School and the Mood Disorders Centre have arranged a series of mental health training days for GPs in the South-West, with the goal of increasing awareness and skills around recurring mental health themes for GPs. The trainers are Dr Maryanne Freer, CWMT GP Educator, and Professor Chris Dickens, Pro-fessor of Psychological Medicine.

4 half day, free of charge, case based training events are being offered using RCGP DVD GP consultation clips.

You may choose to attend as many workshops as you like:

1 April am - Depression and anxiety
1 April pm - Long term conditions
2 April am - Mental health and young people
2 April pm - Mental health risk in general practice

Morning times
9.30 registration and coffee
9.45 start
12.45 finish
Lunch 12.45 - 1.30pm

Afternoon times
1.15 registration and coffee
1.30 start
4.30 finish

Registration
There is no cost for attending this event, but we ask that you register your attendance, including which workshops you will be attending, by 28th February 2014.
