Sarah Powell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education. After teaching kindergarten, Sarah worked at Vanderbilt University as a project coordinator of grants related to word-problem solving and computation for elementary students. PALS Reading and Math were developed by researchers at Vanderbilt University, one of the leading University Departments of Education in the USA, to help teachers accommodate diverse learners and promote their academic success. International research studies provide substantial evidence that peer collaborative group work on academic tasks can help pupil learning.
