Incorporating patient experience and community values into public funding decisions for health technologies: how should we do it?

Seminar given by Dr Jackie Street, BSc (Hons), PhD, Grad. Dip. PHC, School of Population Health, University of Adelaide

Jackie is currently an Australian National Preventive Health Agency Fellow and part of the interdisciplinary NHMRC-funded, Health Care in the Round research group at the University of Adelaide. Her research focus is community participation in decision-making to support improved policy and practice. In particular, she is interested in informed decision-making
through the use of deliberative inclusive methods and development of new methods for collecting and synthesising community views.

Jackie is undertaking research into community perspectives (including Aboriginal communities) on the use of regulatory measures in obesity prevention and developing new methods for engagement of patients and citizens in complex contentious areas of policy and health services.
