PenCHORD Seminar

PenCHORD Seminar, Showcase and Workshop event

Event details

Professor Martin Utley (Professor of Operational Research) and Dr Sonya Crowe (Senior Research Associate) from the Clinical Operational Research Unit (CORU) of University College London (UCL) are speakers at this event.

Martin and Sonya will be talking about the issues surrounding implementation of models and their outcomes in clinical practice. The issues they will be discussing will be of great interest to many of you and, with this in mind, we will be also be running a session following the talk to debate issues of implementation of models, and to look for solutions that could improve the uptake of Operational Research and Evidence-Based Decision Making in practice.

In the afternoon there is an interactive workshop session entitled “The Beer Game”, which is an interactive game designed to demonstrate the importance of information sharing, communication and collaboration between elements of a system, and the need to consider ‘whole systems thinking’ when planning organisational changes. The group hopes that this will be yet another fun but enlightening workshop session that will be of great interest to attendees.
