Man down: let's talk about men's mental health

An event looking at why historically men have been less willing to seek help for psychological problems.

Event details

Drawing on recent social science research from psychology, sociology and health policy, this event will publicise many of the challenges men face in relation to their physical and mental wellbeing and offer practical signposting to support and services.

We will be hosting an interactive stand to encourage members of the public to open discussion about masculinity and mental health.

The stand will be fun, simple and interactive and aims to promote conversation about emotional health and wellbeing.

We will highlight the important role social science research has played, both historically and contemporarily, in the promotion of equality in public health and in informing mental health-care policy – and the role it must now play in future research.

Where necessary, we will be able to signpost local and national services and support.
