Speaker Exeter Alumnus Marcus Harling - 'How we built the Forum'

Exeter Law School have an exciting opportunity for Law students to hear from the Head of Construction and Engineering at Burges Salmon, Marcus Harling (Exeter Alumus, 1982), who was involved with the construction of Exeter University’s ‘Forum’ building.

The Forum is a stunning £48 million centrepiece that has transformed the heart of the Streatham Campus, which has an inspirational mix of outside and inside space.
Marcus Harling will be delivering a lecture on ‘How we built the Forum’ – an introduction to construction and engineering law at 5.30pm on Monday 15th February 2016. Information about Guest Speaker, Marcus Harling:

Marcus joined Burges Salmon in 1986. As Head of Construction and Engineering he leads a team of 14 construction lawyers and specialises in strategic project and development issues.
Marcus is a solutions driven lateral thinker, a specialist in strategic procurement and all aspects of construction risk and dispute resolution. He operates in the following practice areas:
• Construction and Engineering
• PFI and Projects
• Property Development
• Regulated Procurement
• Commercial Contracts

Recent projects include:
• The Crown Estate including £350 million St James's Market Development
• Greater London Authority on the regeneration of Royal Albert Dock providing strategic procurement advice
• A defence section client on a £600 million civil engineering project in Saudi Arabia on FIDIC documentation
• Advising the University sector on development projects
