Event details

In celebration of International Women's Day 2016, the University will be hosting a guest talk with one of our Honorary Graduates of 2015, Mandy McBain.

Mandy is a Client Account Manager for Stonewall, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Equality Charity.

Through her work with the charity and alongside her involvement with the Armed Services and UK Security Services, Mandy has become a passionate advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion. She was awarded an MBE in the 2012 New Year Honours list for her contributions to the inclusivity agenda for the Naval Service and developed the first Naval Service Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Forum which received formal recognition in the Service and helped to develop other minority networks which remain today.

Mandy has spoken at many events, to different sectors including large corporate organisations, universities, the Law Society and has also represented the MOD in The Hague, Bosnia and had the honour of opening the 2011 Amsterdam Canal Pride.

Come along to the talk and listen to Mandy share her experiences and discuss the importance of raising awareness of equality and diversity in the workplace so that every person is able to fulfil their ambition.
