Forty years after her death, Agatha Christie remains an icon in crime fiction and entertainment. To celebrate the life and legacy of this remarkable woman, this conference explores her her continued relevance in adaptations and afterlives. The Ageless Agatha Christie will unite researchers across and beyond the humanities with scholars, enthusiasts, and creative professionals for an exploration of the Agatha Christie phenomenon. Keynote Speakers
Sophie Hannah is an internationally best-selling writer of psychological crime fiction, published in 27 countries. She is the author of The Monogram Murders and Closed Casket, the new Hercule Poirot novels, authorised by Agatha Christie’s estate.
Dr Mark Aldridge is a course leader in the School of Media, Arts and Technology at Southampton Solent University. Publications include The Birth of British Television (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011) and Agatha Christie on Screen (Palgrave, forthcoming).
Alison Joseph is the author of the Sister Agnes mysteries and former Chair of the Crime Writers’ Association. Her series of crime novels featuring Agatha Christie began with Murder Will Out (2014).
Dr Jamie Bernthal is the editor of The Ageless Agatha Christie (McFarland, 2016) and holds an AHRC-funded PhD in Christie and queer theory from the University of Exeter.
Mia Dormer is a PhD candidate at the University of Exeter where she is researching forensic science in detective fiction, and writing an historical crime novel
