A Graduate School of Education research event
Date10 January 2017
Time13:00 to 14:30

Brexit and the US Election shocked us into realizing that not everyone shares the liberal, globalizing stories. How do different culturally available narratives enter dialogue? How does dialogue construct narrative? What are the educational implications? I will focus on the civic domain but this is only one example of constructing identity.

Helen Haste is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Bath and Visiting Professor at Harvard Graduate School of Education.  Her work focuses on cultural psychology especially in relation to civic engagement, but also relating to gender and to science and society.
