Business School Alumni Reception - FULLY BOOKED

Our first flagship Business School alumni reception of 2017 will take place at London Stock Exchange where Andrew Haldane (Chief Economist, Bank of England) will deliver a keynote speech, followed by a Q&A session.


Event details

Following on from our last reception ‘Boldness in Business’ with Lord Bilimoria CBE DL,  we are delighted to announce that our next University of Exeter Business School alumni reception will take place at the London Stock Exchange on Wednesday 15 February, where we will be welcoming Andrew Haldane, Chief Economist at the Bank of England, as our keynote speaker.

The event will also be an opportunity to hear from our new Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean, Professor David Bruce Allen, who will be our host for the evening.  As always, you will also have the chance to network with fellow Exeter alumni over drinks and canapés.

Biography: Andrew Haldane

Andrew G Haldane is the Chief Economist at the Bank of England.  He is also Executive Director, Monetary Analysis, Research and Statistics.  He is a member of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee, and also has responsibility for research and statistics across the Bank.  Andrew has an Honorary Doctorate from the Open University, is Honorary Professor at University of Nottingham, a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford, a member of Economic Council of Royal Economic Society, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, and Member of Research and Policy Committee at NESTA.  He is also Chairman and founder of ‘Pro Bono Economics’, a charity which brokers economists into charitable projects and a Trustee of National Numeracy.

Andrew has written extensively on domestic and international monetary and financial policy issues and has published over 150 articles and four books.  In 2014, TIME magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
