Genomic Imprinting as a Model to Study Epigenetic Disease.

Speaker: Dr Adele Murrell - Reader in Regenerative Medicine from the University of Bath is visiting us to talk on the Genomics Medicine MSc Epigenetics Module.

Event details

Abstract

Followed by a Networking Drinks Reception with Dr Murrell 16.30 -18.00 Cross Keys Bar, St. Luke’s Campus

Dr Murrell is interested in the control of gene expression, how the environment influences gene expression and how gene expression is out of control in cancer cells. During her postdoctoral research at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge, Dr Murrell became interested in Genomic Imprinting as a model Epigenetic System for understanding gene expression. In 2013 Dr Murrell moved to the University of Bath as a Reader and is involved in coordinating the Cancer Research at Bath (CR@B) network, which aims to foster collaborations between University Academics involved in cancer research and clinicians at the RUH involved in treating cancer patients. Last year CR@B extended the cancer research network to Cardiff, Bristol, and Exeter through GW4CANCER.

ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS ARE WELCOME.
