The University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus is acknowledged as one of the most beautiful and botanically interesting of any UK University. Registered as a botanic garden, planting on campus dates back to the 19th century, when the grounds of Reed (then Streatham) Hall were laid by the Veitch family of nurserymen.
Find out more about the history of the grounds and some of the interesting plantings on campus, in this free walk led by a member of the University Grounds Team.
Advance booking essential as places on the walk are limited. Book your ticket online here
The walk starts and ends at Reed Hall, an italianate mansion on Campus, set in one of the most beautiful parts of the grounds, which offers tea, coffee and lunch in its Cafe Reed. Why not arrive early and enjoy a coffee there, or treat yourself to lunch after the end of the walk? More information here: http://www.reedhall.co.uk/dining/cafe-reed/
