The Defence & Security Accelerator – Open Call for Innovation

Who should attend?

All academics interested in pursuing research relevant to the broad defence and security agenda. 

The Defence and Security accelerator is a continuously open funding mechanism run by Dstl and now incorporating Home Office research.  

Proposals are invited for six to nine month applied research projects focused on the themes of:

  • Protection
  • Situational awareness
  • Power & energy
  • Communications
  • Data
  • Lethality
  • Mobility
  • Human performance and lowering costs of ownership

More information in plain language can be provided on any of these themes if academics would like to check relevance of their research in advance.

Workshop aims?

  • To provide information about the Defence and Security Accelerator funding scheme
  • To support academics to develop successful Defence & Security Accelerator proposals
  • To provide an opportunity to have a 1:1 discussion with the Defence & Security Accelerator staff about an early stage proposal or idea.

What is the event about?

The team from the Defence and Security Accelerator are visiting Exeter to talk in detail about the funding scheme and to invite academics to discuss potential proposals.
