Event details
It opens with an account of this period of rapid policy change followed by an analysis of the implications of this process for teachers and other education professionals. New forms of teacher professionalism emerging out of this reformed context are identified and the various restrictions and affordances shaping professional identity formation and development are discussed. There will be a particular focus upon the efficacy and relevance of notions of teacher compliance and resistance in this new landscape informed by an analysis of shifting systemic tensions between technicist / reflective and public / private notions of teaching and education.
