SPOttingCancer among comorbidities (SPOC): do pre-existing conditions delay diagnosis of cancer?
Findings will be presented from two studies investigating diagnostic delay due to comorbidity in different cancer sites using electronic health records: one in patients with colorectal cancer, and the other in patients with lung cancer. The challenge of investigating diagnostic delay using electronic health records, and methodology we are developing to address this will be discussed. An outline of a programme of work to establish Risk Assessment Tools for cancer diagnosis that account for pre-existing conditions.

Time-dependent variation of PRO measurements in patients with chronic health conditions: A systematic scoping review
Results from a recent scoping review looking at time-dependent variation of patient-reported outcomes indicate that symptoms (e.g. pain, fatigue) have distinct temporal profiles that can be picked up by the variability of PRO scores in patients with different chronic conditions. Potential implications of time-dependent variation when collecting and interpreting PROMs data will be discussed.
