What is this event about? 

Are you interested in engaging diverse communities but aren’t sure how to? Do you wonder how you might engage with ‘hard to reach’ publics? Come along to this workshop run by Fiona Carden, Director of Learning and Innovation for CoLab in Exeter. The workshop will cover:

  • Introduction to CoLab
  • Start with the “why” of engagement
  • What are diverse communities?
  • How to meet people where they are
  • Co-design, challenges and success
  • Recognition and incentives

Fiona Carden has worked as an educationalist for over 20 years. Fiona has worked across the region designing and delivering a range of adult and community learning provision. In the last 5 years Fiona has worked in management and strategic development of learning and innovation in the VCSE and is now Director of Learning and Innovation at CoLab.

Information

The Impact and Engaged Research Network (IERN) is aimed at all academics and professional services staff who are interested in impact and engaged research. The Network brings them together to share best practice and information, to undertake training and to provide opportunities for networking.

Who should attend?

All researchers and Professional Services staff at the University of Exeter are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
