Explore South West: Explore Panel Discussion at Exeter Phoenix

Panel discussion and performance under the theme ‘Is there anything left to Explore in the 21st century?’, chaired by Ritula Shah, BBC Radio 4 presenter, The World Tonight.

Event details

The Economist heralded the New Age of Discovery with the declaration“The glory-seeking adventurer of old is giving way to explorers who want to understand the planet rather than dominate it.” Panel members will demonstrate that the need to explore has never been more urgent and relevant. With a breadth and diversity of backgrounds, each speaker will argue how their own 'exploration' is contributing to a greater understanding of our planet and the way we live.

Panel members will include singer Sam Lee, Julian Hector (Head of the BBC Natural History Unit), travel writer Faraz Shibli, and Johanna Wadsley (The Open University). The discussion will be followed by a performance.
