Senior Chinese academics visit University of Exeter Business School

The 35 experts, from top institutions across the country, spent two days in Exeter. They were accompanied by staff from the China office of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

As part of their visit, which took place during July 17 and 18, experts took part in a special symposium hosted by the University of Exeter to share insights and good practice in the delivery of ACCA-affiliated degree programmes. The aim of the event was also to highlight the skills needed by the international and Chinese graduate labour market for graduates returning from an international education experience.

"This event has been an excellent opportunity to share our research and insight with such an esteemed group of Chinese Universities" said Paul Blackmore, Head of Student Employability and Academic Success at the University of Exeter.

"Exeter is committed to ensuring that our Chinese students are well-equipped with the prerequisite skills required by employers when returning to China. It was a great opportunity to showcase our sector-leading services and excellent students ahead the launch of our forthcoming graduate recruitment fairs in Shanghai and Beijing."

Dr Bill Peng, Head of Accounting Department at the University of Exeter Business School, said: “We were very pleased to host the delegation. The ACCA is a key strategic partner, with which the Accounting Department has long-established collaboration.

“We look forward to working more closely with our visiting Chinese academic colleagues, and developing further partnerships in both education and research with the Chinese universities represented in the delegation.”

I left Exeter inspired, as I know all of the ACCA students who made the long trip over from China did.
