Professor Zhongdong Wang named 2021 IEEE Fellow

Professor Zhongdong Wang has been named a Fellow by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Professor Wang, the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean at the University of Exeter’s College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, was given the honour for her contributions to insulating liquids and frequency response analysis methods for power transformers.

The Fellowship was granted at a recent meeting of the IEEE Board of Directors and is effective from January 1st, 2021.

Professor Wang enjoys a global reputation as one of the leading academics in her field, and is internationally recognised for her research in Electrical Power Engineering.

The IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for advancing technology for humanity. Through its 400,000 plus members in 160 countries, the association is a leading authority on a wide variety of areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics.

The IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognised by the technical community as a prestigious honour and an important career achievement. This distinction is reserved for select IEEE members with extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest.
