MSc Paediatric Exercise and Health, St Luke’s Campus

“I chose Exeter because of the Children’s Health and Exercise Research Centre, which is one of the best paediatric research groups in Europe. It is highly regarded for paediatric health research and everyone is extremely welcoming. I have enjoyed being involved in large-scale research projects led by world leading experts.

My biggest highlight has been the Paediatric Exercise and Health module, as different Consultant Physicians ran guest lectures including cardiologists and endocrinologists. I also really enjoyed collaborating with Professor Craig Williams and consultant paediatric cardiologists for my dissertation ‘Determinants of Fitness in Elite Paediatric Soccer’.

The lecture material is interesting, well-structured and excellently taught. Each module is a logical progression pitched at the right level. The sport science laboratories are simply incredible! There has been lots of investment in the right equipment needed for both teaching students and world leading research.

Location is key! Exeter is a big city, living close to the campus is a definite plus as you can be more involved in both academic and student life. After I graduate, I am aiming to complete a PhD in paediatric congenital heart disease at the University of Exeter.”
