‘It’s an experience of a lifetime! I was able to learn not only from the professors and seminars, but also from the other students and staff. I made connections spanning the globe that I’ll treasure for a very long time. I’m so thankful for the opportunity and that I chose to take it!’

What do you do during the week?

In our Pre University Summer School 2022 programme, each student will have the chance to explore a variety of topics related to preparing for university, life at university and life after university. These include the following areas:

  • Personal Statements and applying to university
  • The difference between school and university
  • Practical life as a student at university
  • Support available for students
  • Insight into academic life at university in a variety of disciplines
  • Careers support at university
  • Career choices related to different disciplines of study

Each day consists of 5 hours of group sessions with 3 hours per day dedicated to our Academic Pathways and 8 hours dedicated across the whole programme to our Global Challenge. Each day starts at 10am, following breakfast, and finishes at 16:30 to allow students time to relax and absorb the information they have learnt during the day as well as work on any group projects or study assignments set before the social programme begins.

Each session is delivered by a different member of the team here at the University of Exeter and the opportunity is there to learn from each different angle of life at university, from lecturers to current students and alumni.
