‘It’s an experience of a lifetime! I was able to learn not only from the professors and seminars, but also from the other students and staff. I made connections spanning the globe that I’ll treasure for a very long time. I’m so thankful for the opportunity and that I chose to take it!’

What's included

What's included

We try to make booking the programme easy by including everything into one set programme fee.

Our programme includes a variety of activities within different areas and is spread over a period of 4 weeks to ensure that it doesn't put a lot of time pressure on students who are possibly still at school. The structure of the programme over the four weeks will include the following:

Live Sessions

Live sessions on a saturday at 10am GMT for up to 2.5 hours to enable students from all over the world to work together

  • Welcome Event
  • Group Challenge Sessions
  • Academic Workshops/Sample Lectures
  • Current student Q & A panels and workshops

Please note that all live sessions will also be recorded and made available during the programme should a participant have to miss a session for any reason and want to catch up.

Content Available on the Summer Programmes Platform

There will be a variety of activities and materials available on the platform at all times from the start to the end of the programme for students to work on the programme within their own schedules and to foster the idea of independent learning which is so important within Higher Education. These activities and materials will include:

  • Video lectures on subject strands with learning activities
  • Group challenge scenario setting and input activities
  • Study Skill development activities
  • Application guidance and development activities
  • Assignments and activities with personal student feedback from University of Exeter staff

Activities arranged around a student's timetable

Some of our activities will also involve catching up with students individually to talk through either information and guidance on application or support sessions on their subjects of choice. These activities will be arranged to suit the timetable of the individual student.

Our aim is to make the programme as interactive and accessible as possible for all students while not asking for a huge time commitment at a time when life is challenging for so many people around the world.

Following the completion of the programme, each student will receive a digital Certificate of Attendance to the event from the University of Exeter which will also detail the academic strand chosen. During the programme, the student will complete a selection of activities across the different topics which will also enable each student to form a Portfolio of work which can be used outside of the programme. This could include group work and individual work with feedback from our contributors.

It is incredibly important to us, both from the start of the design of the programme to the completion, that student interaction with each other and with our students and staff is vital to the quality and success of the programme. Participants on the Pre University Summer School programme will have the opportunity to interact with both academic staff and current students with the support of our International Summer School team.
