Behavioural and Experimental Data Science

Theme Lead: Prof Oliver Hauser

The Behavioural and Experimental Data Science Theme focuses on the intersection between artificial intelligence and economics, psychology and management. While the use of artificial intelligence has become commonplace in the market, companies and society at large, the behavioural effects on decision-makers and consumers are yet to be fully understood. We aim to leverage the insight of experimental research in economics and psychology—which aims to isolate causality through experimental randomisation—and bring them together with the predictive power of artificial intelligence. These insights find applications in economic, financial and household decision-making, managerial and marketing practices, as well as in educational and public health settings. If you are interested in learning more about research in this theme, or want to get involved, please do get in touch with us.
