Research-inspired learning as a theme in the Education Incubator
How can we use our research to inspire our students at Exeter and in turn allow them to inspire our research in innovative ways? Research-Inspired Learning is a new theme in the Education Incubator. Thanks to funding from the Research and Impact Strategy budget, we are now inviting applications for projects which explore research-inspired learning.
We are particularly interested in projects which support students to work alongside researchers. Projects might look to embed existing frameworks, such that of the University of Adelaide, in to programmes. They might explore the support needed for students to organise or attend undergraduate conferences or they might examine the skills researchers need in order to support undergraduate research, co-authoring with students, and providing opportunities to experience primary research first hand. Applications made under this theme can include funds for student engagement (including payment through the student campus partner scheme), travel, and events. Awards must be spent by the end of this current financial year (31st July 2019).
1. Their innovative approach;
2. Extent of meaningful student involvement;
3. Their fit with theme of research inspired learning;
4. Whether they identify clear outcomes;
5. Likelihood of being delivered to time and budget;
6. Their potential to impact practice across the University.
We will be awarding small grants £100-3000 and one or two larger grants of £5,000-10,000. The deadline for applications is Monday 25th February.
Please submit your application using this online form (link coming soon). Applicants will be informed of their outcome in the week commencing 4th March.
