The University of Exeter has world-class sustainability research.

Sustainability research review

Tim Lenton, Chair in Climate Change and Professor of Earth System Science led a review of our sustainability research activity. As part of this review, he consulted with key people across the university and at partner organisations.

As well as one-to-one meetings, three workshops were held to start people thinking, by briefly surveying what we do, but mostly to offer up ideas of where we could go next – especially with an eye on interdisciplinary challenges where Exeter could offer something special (or even unique).

Representatives from all Colleges were asked to speak on sustainability from their respective viewpoints and contribute ideas with a view to steering future investment in this area.

Tim's review was presented to Council in February 2013 and led to the Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
