Flying high - Rezcomm expands at Exeter Science Park Centre

The leading provider of airport, parking and venue-based reservation commerce, Rezcomm - which began life in North Devon, UK as a traditional travel agency – has upsized its offices at Exeter Science Park Centre as it prepares to quadruple its workforce over the next two years.

Following a period of accelerated growth, Rezcomm’s client-base now spans the UK and Europe with new opportunities coming from the USA. From its headquarters at the Exeter Science Park Centre, Rezcomm provide global client support and additional in-country representation as required.

Providing innovative technology, Rezcomm has experienced rapid growth as airports, parking operators and venues look to automate systems and improve the customer experience. The revenue commerce solution also addresses operators’ desire to create a wider offering to customers, providing a platform that can maximise revenue streams, whilst simultaneously improving customer loyalty.

Renowned for its leading digital eco-systems and recognised as innovators in the field, Rezcomm has a rapidly increasing portfolio of clients, including some of the world’s largest parking operators, who leverage their experience and technology to deliver intelligent solutions across a wide network of locations, supported by an ever-growing number of employees based at its UK headquarters at Exeter Science Park.

Marc Ive, Rezcomm Director, said: “One of the things that attracted us to the Exeter Science Park was the ability to scale our business quickly as we accelerate growth and the park has been very supportive in this move. As we grow further and expand into new territories, it is reassuring to know that the Science Park can support our aspirations and will continue to provide flexibility and scalability.

“Our office environment is technology enabled, ensuring that we deliver a reliable and fully connected support service to our clients wherever they are located. This approach has increased productivity, improved field service communications and has ensured that we are always connected to our clients whenever they need us, regardless of their location – we’re a 24/7 operation.”

The larger office space taken by Rezcomm at the Exeter Science Park has enabled the firm to offer an appealing working space to its staff. “The Science Park is a positive environment, we are surrounded by like-minded people and the beautiful Science Park grounds. This additional space allows us to have space to support our increasing employee-base, but also enhance the working environment for our staff with areas for coffee and relaxed seating,” added Marc.

As Rezcomm expands its employee base, the firm will look to the local pool of skilled and knowledgeable workers to fulfil the positions available. The firm moved to Exeter Science Park in May 2016 after beginning life in North Devon. Adapting to the changing digital environment and having recognised the clear shift in customer buying behaviour, Rezcomm moved to online travel solutions and developed its systems and services further to specifically address the challenges and opportunities of the airport, leisure and parking sectors.

Rezcomm continues to develop and invest in its software as it looks for opportunities to increase its client’s services to their customers. The bespoke software provides airports, parking operators and other venue-based businesses with their own branded shop window, built in yield management and business intelligence tools together with CRM capabilities.

Rezcomm’s focus on disruptive innovation for the sector is attracting industry giants that recognise the need to embrace new technology, strategies and go to market approaches.

“Our technology relieves a lot of the pressure and resource demands on airports, parking operators and venues to enable them to maximise their digital revenue through multiple channels in an increasingly competitive environment.

“Ensuring the right solutions are in place is critical in supporting our clients’ lean operational models, whilst ensuring that their customers end-to-end experience of the services they provide is seamless, engaging and enjoyable,” explains Marc.

Dr Sally Basker, CEO of the Exeter Science Park, said: “This is an exciting time for Rezcomm, as they grow their business both in the UK and internationally. Providing flexible and scalable accommodation to facilitate the growing needs of our tenants is one of the benefits that set us aside from traditional business parks. We are thrilled to be able to support Rezcomm in this way and that their growth will see new jobs coming into the area.”

Accessible travel connections from the Exeter Science Park enables Rezcomm to further its international business ambitions and effectively support overseas customers. “Exeter International Airport is one of our customers, so being close is helpful and from there, we can travel to our many other customer bases,” commented Marc.

Joe Pearce, Business Support Manager of the Science Park Centre said: “I am thrilled to see Rezcomm experience such rapid growth and expansion on an international level. The Science Park Centre is equipped to enable their growth and development, not only through its infrastructure, but also its ethos. It's a delight to support this inspiring, innovative company and witness their journey as they go from strength to strength.”

The building of the Science Park Centre has been made possible with shareholder equity from Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council, the University of Exeter; the Heart of the South West LEP which committed £4.5m loan from the Growing Places Fund; and a £1 million grant from the Regional Growth Fund.
